THE FABRIC
Fabric used in our Collection:
1. Pina : The green epidermal layer of pineapple is scraped off the leaf by means of a coconut husk.
Pina silk : combination of pina fibre and silk: the strands of the cloth are weave horizontally….
Pina orig or sinamay: finest fibre (liniwan)used in weaving pina cloth: the strands of the cloth are weave vertically and horizontally.
2. Pina cocoon : new fabric: white strands: combination of pineapple fiber and silk cocoon.
3. Jusi : Chinese term for “raw silk”, made from raw silk
4. Jusi Pina : Jusi with an additional layer of handpaint to make it stronger and look more like our traditional pina fabric
These type of fabric can only be hand washed, no direct sunlight for a long period of time.
